ROUNDTABLE OBJECTIVES
The Roundtable for Religious Freedom will act, in Brazil, inspired by the experience of the “International Religious Freedom Roundtables”, an entity that brings together the national Roundtables.
Initially, the Roundtable will act more at the international level, cooperating with government efforts in favor of minorities persecuted for religious reasons in the various countries where such problems may occur.
In addition, the Roundtable will be vigilant in acting in cases of violations of constitutional and legal provisions that guarantee religious freedom in Brazil. Should any abnormality be detected, The Roundtable purports to carry out actions before whatever branch of government branch in charge, whether national, state or municipal so as to ensure that freedom of belief, of worship and of religious proselytism be respected.
However, the Roundtable will be, in particular, attentive to violations of the religious rights of the entities that integrate it and ready to interfere in the way that is appropriate, in the defense of these rights.
For the proper performance of its functions, the Roundtable will always maintain a respectful and friendly relationship with the aforementioned government authorities, regardless of their political or ideological orientation.
